[Tutorial] Make your Server Public

hey i port forwarded and everything.....but when i try to logon it says " Login server down"....did i do something wrong?

This is becaus logonserver and world is not running.

But i have them up and running, and it says that both are completely connected and fully loaded with no errors.

But that would be if i wanted to connect to it locally, if i set it to 127.0.0.1 only i can connect to it and im trying to make it so that my friends can connect.

So this is how u do. U make the Realm adress: yourhostname:8129 as mentioned.
then, under the text, Copy the first text, But this time u change some text in it:
< Realm 2 instead of < Realm 1
127.0.0.1:8129 instead of yourhostname:8129
Realm name "Localhost" instead of what the other server is named. Then u change your realmlist to set realmlist 127.0.0.1 but your friends still got set realmlist yourhostname, Try that =)

i did what you said bro.. but it still says for my friend logon server down.. but for one of my friends he can get on.. but the others cant.. Help me?

ok.. soo i change my hosts file like you said and it still doesnt work. my friend still cannot log onto the server.. he keeps getting a thing that says login server down.. but its not because me and my friend irl are on the server messing around.. If you can help me it would be a pleasure. THANKS!

Do you have your ports open ?

Yes. i have all my ports open. Does it matter what i name them while im port forwarding? Because i named the WoW - WoW8 or something like that.

Name does not matter, Hmm i gonna check with a few friends if they what the problem is.

Okay so i am trying to make my server public because my brother and a few hundred friends from other servers wanna play with me. But it will not allow me to make it public ive port forwarded ive made the extra realm for me. i go into logon.config and change that to see what it does but it does nothing but mess it up. im calling out for help from anyone please email me at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] or reply to my post if u can help thank you

Maybe you have wireless internet and I don't think it works on that as I never used.

sigh~ i do got wireless....so making my server would only work through hamachi then?

no it wont

but you must
1) portforward
2) put your antivirus program to ignore mysql, logonserver and world
3) put your antivirus so it ignores the ports you forwarded

to log in everyone on the LAN must use 127.0.0.1, everyone else use the domaine

Of course it will work with a domain-name to (like domain.no-ip.biz)

You will just need to portforward the following ports on your router (ArcEmu):
3036
3306
6112
6881
8050
8093
8129 (Realm (1) port)
3727 (voice-chat)
3724 (WoW main-port)
80 (website)

Then it should work perfectly,

When I try to save the "hosts" file, after putting in all of my IPs it says..
"Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.

Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

I've tried everything to my knowledge to fix this, but I'm left clueless now, what do I do?

before saving the hosts > make a copy of hosts to desktop, edit it then replace with the original one found in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\

Seems like there is a problem in your character database.
Can be fixed, if we know what the logon.exe says at that point when trying to make a character.

I have followed all instructions, I made 2 realms, one with my domain name and one with 127.0.0.1
I can login to my 127.0.0.1 realm but I can't login to my domain name realm but my friend can login to my domain name realm but cant login to my 127.0.0.1
I want to play on the same server as my friend but It's messed up. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey, so I'm having trouble with this.

I followed these directions DOWN TO A TEE, and ALL of my ports are forwarded, but I'm still having troubles.

Whenever I try to logon with my admin account, I get an error in World of Warcraft that says that it cannot connect. What could be the possible problems for this?!? :s
